eBay Countdown We developed the first and only real-time push based application for eBay. The flash based interface incorporates real-time asynchronous updates that provides the user with real-time updates and the ability to bid on auctions right up to the last second. The custom developed server infrastructure treats all connected clients as a giant distributed cache that uses a custom designed asynchronous protocol and communications infrastructure to keep all users synchronized within milliseconds. The back-end for this application is so powerful that eBay has asked us to generalize it for use in a number of other real-time sensitive applications. Circuitview Have you ever seen the inside of Facebook's data center? We have. In fact we built the application that monitors the power usage across the entire data center (as well as EDS, VMware, and others). A combination of custom hardware, sophisticated firmware and server infrastructure provides a real-time view into power events as they happen. Complex data analytics, monitoring and alarming make this a particularly interesting application. We recently implemented full SNMP support for the custom hardware along with MODBUS RTU and MODBUS TCP as well. PageMage.com Bored with the static html pages on eBay? So was PageMage when they contacted us to build a fully embeddable flex based document builder. With a simple to use drag and drop interface utilizing sophisticated components such as graphics, video and animations, users can now build interactive eBay product descriptions for their auctions. Built on top of our own custom flex framework and coupled with a sophisticated back end designed to meet the scalability of the eBay user base, this project has been a lot of fun!
